• Goal Setting  – Setting goals is typically an important part of any significant endeavor, including long-term athletic targets. I believe we all are wired differently and internalize and act on goal setting differently. In my opinion, it is actually far more important to have good habits than good goals. Habits are what will help you achieve goals – goals that are not supported by good habits are just lofty ideas on your wall.
  • Habits – I am putting together a synopsis of key points from James Clear’s “Atomic Habits.” This is an excellent read and a must for anybody embarking on a significant journey. Having read many books on goal setting, creating habits and controlling a positive self destiny, I deem this a top notch book on the subject of achieving one’s goals. It can be leveraged for personal life, business, athletic pursuits… really any area of life where good habits will help you achieve your goals. Look for my write-up with full credit to James Clear for an excellent book in my next entry. In the meantime consider what your current habits are doing for you…
  • Are you habits helping you get where you want to go?
  • Are your habits consistent?
  • Are your habits preventing you from achieving your goals?
  • Ask yourself if you believe you are doing a good job following your desired habits?
  • And lastly ask one or two people who know you well and what your current goal(s) are and ask: “As somebody close to me, do you think I am doing a good job of sticking to useful habits to help me achieve my goals? What would you suggest I do differently”
